Saw this today and - in my opinion - it's really cool!

Tower Hobbies does not have them in stock - their arrival date indicates "order pending"

Hmmm six wheel independent, gear drive, portal axle's...

Only real question is it geared low enough to actually go crawling?

Good question

I'm assuming the motor shaft pinion could be reduced - beyond that, who knows

I look at many Tamiya vehicles (like this one) as "advanced toys" rather than serious hobby-worthy machines (don't hate me for that - just an opinion - ha)

And - of course - Tamiya does produce some excellent vehicles . . . but their prices . . . dang - let's get a home equity loan so I can order one of those - not! (ha)

I do like the uniqueness of this machine - not like that's always a good thing - the AMC Pacer was quite unique (ha)

With oil-filled shocks, a decent motor, complete set of bearings - maybe it could be fun for simple terrain

It's geared about 37:1 overall. Should be decent on a trail. Much better than the std. 6x6 chassis.

Oooff.. Those wheels really make it an ugly bugger. A weird kind of plastic space-mobile only the Japanese could cough-up. I wonder how it looks with some proper 1.9’s or something like that. Even the monstertruck wheels and tires from the schoolbus-variation would look better.

The whole 6x6 line from Tamiya makes me scratch my head. Weird body-choice after weird body-choice. Certainly unique, I’ll give them that. But with their scale-prowess, couldn’t they produce a true scale trial truck? Say, A MAN Kat, or a Tatra.

Their truck-axles are already quite sturdy. Keep it at 1/14 scale to match it with the tons of accessories there are for 1/14 trucks..

Ah, well.. a guy can dream.
