Default AX10 Turning Radius

I just got an Axial AX10 Scorpion Kit about a week ago and have learned that the turning radius sucks on it.
What can I do to improve the turning radius on my AX10?

More info will be need, such as what servo, servo horn, have you tied the mod that is on the front page of this website? Remember these are full time 4X4 & will not turn like a 4X4 off-road car.

you can shorten the wheel base , which is some time of work.
or you can install a 4ws kit (four Wheel Steering) as mentioned above.

Not everyone lives their lives 1/4 mile at a time...oops, wrong sport, but the metaphor applies.

Buy the 4 wheel steering kit if you're just playing around with it. If you decide to start doing comps, you'll have to remove it.

my trucks' lack of a tight turning radius is making me a better driver! I'm learning how to anticapate where the truck will go when turning and now I can look for a different line through the obstacle so that I won't have to back up.

If there's any chance that he may compete with it ( now or in the future) why waste the money on the 4 wheel steering?

30 bucks from A-main Hobbies for the the kit isn't so much money as to be called a "waste". A TQ3 is a good radio for the Scorpion whether he has rear steer or a dig.

It's more likely that a new crawler will get bored and frustrated with a truck that's difficult for them to drive. If the guy is lucky and has a club in his area that is more concerned with having fun than thumping people on their heads with a rule book then rear-steer won't be a problem. ;)

More important than turning radius is learning to drive what you have like walking the front end at an angle and believe it or not using creative reverse. I sure found that ouit yesterday.

We have BPRCA here as our local club so NO 4 wheel steering but they are a bunch of very helpful and encouraging guys. No matter how bad you do to them you've done great! and tips galore.

There are a couple little mods that give you a little more steering. Just check the Axial build thread.

it dont matter what rig you have a clod a txt any of them if you are locked in the front axle even a 1 1 your steering is going to suck big time thats why like in my 1 1 rig i run a atlas transfer case so i can actullay disengage my front axle so that is the same thing if you were to run a dig setup front tires dont turn when you dont want them to alowinng you to turn

I'm curious about this "creative" reverse. Reverse is reverse.

Well an example is starting a course in reverse...which is what I did on one course.... backed down the rocks and lined up perfectly to go through the first gate. Sorta like steering from the back. If I had gone forward I would have had to back up at least twice or three times. It would have been more points trying to negotiate it forward. Another is being stuck in a precarious position where you might be able to back out but not go forward. Once in reverse you can stay there without losing any more points. That's what I mean by creative.

You're right reverse is reverse but when you got lemons, make lemonade.:-P

Default ax10 steering issues

Make sure all of your bases are covered like using button head screws on the c hubs and servo throw. You could just have a simple proublme like not getting all of your travel.
