depends on what your budget is, i also prefer budget instead of "cheap", anyways if you are looking for budget axles you can start with clod axles depending on what kind of rig you want to build.

well IMHO moa's are cheaper then the shafty's shit you gotta spend a grip to upgrade shafty axles / tranny etc etc. moas such as the bergs come good out of the box. all ive done to mine is add rear lockouts for like 16$. just my 2c. i got about 600-750 in my berg and well over 1100 in my shafty. |

IF you build some of your own parts (links, trays, brackets, skid) and shop for deals on quality parts, then it can be done in that budget of $800. Bullys = $250 Steering Servo = $90 Sidewinder ESC = $75 Chassis and Skid = $65 Motors = $50 3 Cell Lipo = $30 Shocks = $50 Material for links/trays/screws ect = $25 Rod Ends = $20 Dig Switches = $7 Dig Servo = $10 Wheels = $75 (CPE Blanks for $60 and Rings for $15 or shop for used) Tires = $35 (Panthers with memory foam from TCS for example) Before Rx/TX this total hits about $782. IF you need to buy na inexpensive but functional RX/TX....shop a used DX6 for $75 and an RX for $50. If you have a RX/TX then you are at your $800 budget. Building a MOA is not as expensive as I thought that it would be. I was sitting on the servos, wheels, tires, and link/tray material....as well as a DX6 and RX. It is surprising. |

i built my berg for a total of about 700...and it has quality parts. The only thing i didnt have to buy was the radio and esc (im running a tq3 and sidewinder i had from my shafty)...also when i bought my berg i bought the whole kit to have the spare hardware and random parts. so if you bought just the axles it would be even cheaper...

You can build it pretty cheap. Check out the HR axles or Bergs. To get them set is about the same price once you add in all the parts for the HR's. Pick a chassis, you can get anything from 50-150 bucks into a really comp worthy chassis and be golden. You can make all your links with 4mm allthread and 1/4 SS tubing and they will never break. The only electronics you need over a shafty is a second motor. The rest can be wired up.

initially, you can get clod axles really cheap (i just sold a complete set for 80.00), however, to mod them for 2.2 comp use is not cheap, as preferably you'll want to get small diameter axle tubes, cvds, small knuckles, and different hexs and wheels (for narrower track width and tighter steering). however, if you're not comping your rig or are building a super, you can leave the axles stock and/or just upgrade over time if you want. modded clod axles are bomb-proof! however modded clod axles (unless bought for a great deal used) will cost you just as much as just buying bullys or bergs. shrek is selling a clod super roller with nn chassis in the classifieds for 200.00- a great deal on getting started in a super imo. |
