| whats the best electronics to get started
I am looking at buying an axial. Which is better, the kit or the artr? Also, which electronics would be good for this? I dont want to spend more than $150 or so.

I think the ARTR contains better parts than the RTR or Kit. What all electronics do you need? I like the Castle Creations Sidewinder ESC and a Banzai 45T brushed motor. Zippy Lipos work great and are a decent price if you have a charger that can handle them.

I just out-fitted my first crawler, the AX10 Scorp ARTR. I went with the seemingly popular Novak Rooster and 55T brushed motor/ESC setup, a 5945MG servo I had laying around, and an Outrage Extreme 2S 2500mAh LiPo. The servo is gonna bust your budget of $150. You can alternatively look at the Hitec 645. The battery I listed was $30. | |

If you get the kit you can do all the aftermarket stuff on it. If you just want to get in to it fast i'd say the ARTR. I would say I like the Tekin fx-r with the 35t lathe motor and a Apogee 2200 lipo. The Novak rooster and goat are great esc's also. |

It's gonna be hard to fit ESC, Motor, Servo, and Battery within $150....ESC gonna be $75-$135, Motor $20-$60, Servo (good digital) $80-$150, Battery $20-$100

150 is tough, but can get close.. 120 or so for Tekin FXR combo, 20 or so for TQ3 with receiver, and 30 or so for Servo, puts you right at $170, course, still need batteries.. but that would be a good start IMO

| A Novak Rooster/55T combo is only $110 at Tower Hobbies. Tower is also a good source for decent, cheap servos.

Tekin Fxr 55t combo $114.99 (towerhobbies.com) Tq3 radio $25 (ebay) TowerPro servo MG995 208oz $10.70 (bestofferbuy.com) E-flight 2s 2100mah 20c lipo $29.99 (towerhobbies.com) This is good set up I just did for my sons crawler and it works great. The towerpro servo is a good cheap servo with alot of torque |
