| Getting ready to get my first Rock Crawler, which one, the Rock Force or Axial AX10?
Getting ready to get my first crawler, not sure which one would be best to start off with. Kyosho Rock Force or Axial AX10? Any suggestions would help.

If this is your first DO NOT get a Rock Force. They are for when you want to try "another rig". From personal experience they need a lot of tuning to even become remotely crawler friendly. Ax10 is the best user-friendly crawler. You will learn that as you read more here. Go with something that is proven and reliable. Or wait a couple months and go straight for the losi?! |

search is your friend bottom line: AX-10 is the industry standard right now, lots of aftermarket and plenty of support. Rock force: still the "red headed step-child" of the crawling scene. they CAN work well but take alot to set up right. parts may be hard to get my advice, if you can, buy a losi mini now then get 2.2 after the losi comp crawler has been released and picked over |

Ax10 works great for me. Losi seems nice with the stock dig

Welcome to RCC!! My biggest suggestion would be to spend a bunch of time reading here on the forum. You'll be able to answer your own questions. | |

i have the RF, and i like it. i compared the Axial, Berg, and others. the Axial kit only had the betty body, and i wasn't loving it. the Berg was out of my price range, after everything was all said and done the Duratrax wasn't available yet.... the losi still isn't available until May... the RF won out because of 1. the worm gear. the idea of it being so different from other shaft driven vehicles 2. the ability to use any old can motor. (although i've already upgraded to HH puller ) 3. my LHS had one in stock, and i'm a **** for kyosho. now, the things that annoy me.... parts (particularly the hi speed worm gear) are hard to come by stock wheels are glue on style. for something that costs $$$, i'd expect beadlocks and foams! to be honest, i could have gotten the Axial Kit, and a different body and still ended up paying less money, but it all goes back to wanting to follow a different path either way, you have quite the decision on your hands. i look forward to hearing what you decide on. |

Go with the Axial. Easy to find replacement parts and more hop-ups than any other crawler. |

I just bought my crawler a few weeks ago. I know the Losi is coming out soon, but I decided to get the Axial because not only did I not want to wait, but I wanted a kit to build. There's a HUGE aftermarket for the Axial as well, it's amazing. The way I see it, I can always transfer my electronics from the Axial to the Losi in the future anyway...but to get some experience under my belt first I figured it'd just be smarter to get started with the Axial and have fun building a kit since it's been a few years since the last kit I built.

Like I said, it takes a few more dollars than you want to spend. You can always buy the RTR and then upgrade as you have time. Let me know if you want to go down to the shop to crawl a little tomorrow. I will charge my batts.
