Default battery choices and why?

I been looking into buying a crawler,im 90% sure im gonna get a axial. But in my time looking in forums at pics or ebay etc... alot of people have these sadle type packs and mount them up front "I get to put more weight up front to help it grab and less likely to tip,and why they put them in 2 parts to keep weight evenly distributed" But I see alot of packs are like 1500mah,,that I dont get at all? Wouldn't you want like a 3300 or 4500 etc?

Crawlers draw very little amperage. So you get crazy long runtimes from small packs. On a 1500mah battery you can usually run for a half hour or more. The 3300mah Sub-C packs are heavy and can provide could traction because of their weight, but they're big and there isn't alot of room on a 2.2 crawler axle, which is about the lowest spot you've got to mount batteries.

You can get the 3300 4500's, you would just have a longer run time. Plus the cells are a little bigger with those, so the take up more space. Basicly what K_B said
