Default Adjusting shocks on Summit or T-Maxxx

I just purchased a summit and I'm wondering how to stiffen the shocks up, because top speed in high gear im basically scraping the ground in the rear, I see it is threaded and has a notched ring around it, but for whatever reason a pair of channel locks is not turning it. Any advice?

What are you trying to turn?

I don't know what shocks they put on the Summit, but on the Revo & jato I have the shock shaft is threadded and there's a nut that you can thread up and down it (increase/decrease shock pressure).

If that's not there, try increasing your shock oil weight. My slash was the same way, dropped some 100wt oil and it's perfect now. Another thing you can try to do is replace the springs with stiffer springs. Same issue I had on my Rustler and i replaced all 4 with some dual action springs.

X2

btw: most monster trucks squat really badly when they accelerate. Thicker oil will most certainly help, as well as stiffer springs. The downside is slower reacting or overly tight suspension that may hurt performance in other areas.

The shock collars on those are hard to turn, make sure the suspension is drooped out to take some load off it. If that doesn't help you can just take the shocks off and do that way. There are plenty of different springs available for those, they're the same size as the revo. Matter of fact, the summit is a revo (more or less) a T-maxx is completely different.

The teflon coating on the GTR shocks that came on your summit make the collars tight until they are used a bit. On mine i did have to unbolt them from the cantilevers and use a pliers to get them started from stock. Once you have used them a bit they do loosen up though.
