Default Complete 2.4Ghz newb question

I know nothing about 2.4Ghz radios, but at the same time very over the worrying if I have the same crystals as someone else. It's time to upgrade.

I was looking at getting the new Big Off-roader from rc4wd after seeing a couple threads and had a question.

If I were to buy an additional rx and put it in my other truck (one slash and one crawler), how does the tx recognize them? Do I have to program them?

Thanks

for 2.4 ghz radios, you bind a reciever to the transmitter. You put a special plug on the reciever usually, and follow your manual's process to bind the transmitter to it.

Good transmitters will have various models in memory - so model 1 binds to your crawler, model 2 your other rc etc.

e.g. the airtronics mx3 stores 18 models in memory (you'd think they'd be able to store their config on a micro sd card or something - but such usefulness isnt here yet:P)
