Dig,Dig,and more

What is the best dig unit out there for a ax-10 tranny and axles?:?:

NCcrawler 05-13-2009 02:56 PM

ive got the Hot Racing dig and i love it.....only $48 w/ shipping from TCS

comes with servo mounting plate and all hardware to install

i hear the DNA is a great dig, but i run the hot racing dig with great results! it works fairly smooth if you grease it good and run about a 60+ oz. servo for it

I have used 2 dna digs and they are very nice, one of them sticks a tiny bit, but the other one is butter smooth.

DNA DNA DNA!!! i love mine it works great and i have yet to have a problem with it, 90% of the people i crawl with use dna and they also like it, 5% use the r2d dig and the other 5% are on the dark side (bergs). imo just use DNA!!!

treday619 05-13-2009 09:39 PM

I really like my DNA but I am starting to look at the Eritex. The DNA needs alot less modification that others and the Eritex dig just came out but looks very promising

MattBraxton 05-14-2009 05:20 AM

Sounds like everyone is leaning to the DNA. Thanks for some ideas guys!"thumbsup"

Try out Eritex's New Dig.

how hard was it to install the HR dig unit? I have never installed a dig unit and not sure where to start to install the HR dig unit. Does the axle have to be cut to make the dig unit work?
Any help on this issue is appreciated"thumbsup"

The digs shipping now have them. There is also a thread in the A10 section showing assembly and setup. Since there are only 6 major parts, I got mine together in about 2 minutes, it's pretty easy.

the HR dig was not hard at all....it is assembled 95% out of the package

u have to take the tranny apart and install the output, flip the tranny around so the motor is on the pass. side and cut the rear driveshaft

i cut mine with a simple hacksaw

That eritex DIG looks like a very nice compact unit.

Anybody familiar with it and the DNA.

Can you give us a list of pros and cons for each?

Thanks

Check this thread for dig info: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/axial-ax-10-scorpion/185367-more-dig-questions-but-research.html

This thread http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=185367 has a great pros and cons list of most of the digs offered for the axial.

The only one missing form that list is the Vanquish Hurtz dig http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/vanquish-products/186500-vanquish-products-hurtz-shifter-dig.html, which is because it wasn't out yet.

well how about vp dig will that work on the ax10 im in the same vote and want to get a dig for mine

acrosteve 07-31-2009 03:47 AM

Thanks for the link. Good info there.

The VP dig will work in an AX10, and should fit in any other chassis too. It is an excellent unit. Here is a pic of mine in a DNA SSS chassis:

So far, I have not had any problems with it, and have subjected it to many full throttle shifts, works every time. I fabricated a mount for use with a mini servo, and so far that servo is also working the dig well:
