Default should i run a bec?

i know the answer is yes but im hoping i can get away from running one. due to tight spaces

set up is..

4s lipo
mmpro
single jr8711
18.5 t ballistic motor.

im only asking cuz the MMpro has an internal one of 5-7volts, so im hoping since im only running a single servo i can get away with out it.

thought / input??

hard to say, most speed controls dont work well over 2s lipo. you can try without one and see how it works, if it cuts out you will need one.

Servo sucks more than 6 volt? Speed say's 5-7 volt, should be fine! Doe's the speed say 2-cell and 6-volt "OK" , but 3-cell or more "NO"?

straight from the site

"Switching BEC powers your radio and servo all the way up to the 6S max input. Users may select the output for any voltage between 5V and 7V."

i was just hoping some one had tried my combo befor and could tell me a direct yes or no answer

The problem is the internal bec amp output. I believe it is only 3amp (castle kinda pisses me off because they don't really list all the specs), 4s and the 8711 will put a strain on it. Better safe than sorry.

Why not just get a Holmes ESC and be done with it....no BEC needed. I run both my trucks that way.

because im running a brushless motor. the HH TM, was one of my top pics on this build but i really wanted to try a BL set up this time around. my figureing is if i think this set up is the suxs the MMpro goes into somthing else and i order a TM to replace it.

but with a lil creative thinking i managed to cram all my electronics where i wanted them and not look to shitty lol
