| what to get..!?
So iv got some cash to spendand im thinking its time my 1:1, 85 Sami.. got a little friend.. I was originally thinking a losi but seeing the scx's.. well it seems an obvious choice. I want the build.. There really is no better way of knowing yor rig! so Id go for the kit version.. I want the choice of major hopups & availability of spare parts. things like digs, STOA and IIRc reading something about a leaf spring mod to!?-could be me trippin, lol. I want it to be ''hassel free''..as much as possible, iv had nitro's, and electric before, and the ease of electric i love currently only have a 1:8th bike..brushless ;) Any suggestions regarding where to purchase? best price and willing to ship down under!? Electronics wise, as tempting as brushless is.. I think a integy 55t lathe will suffice my needs? Any certain ESC's to be awae of both good and bad!? I will more than likely have to be on the Nimihs untill I can afford a decent Lipo charger (as I also need lipos for my brushless GPV-1 will purchase as a package..) Open to correction or other suggestions in both Motor/ESC and batterys! Can some of those with the SCX give me a decent ''parts'' guide.. as to what im likely to require in adition to the initial build!? Upgrades internally in diffs, battery relocation etc. Post links if you know em! At the moment thats all I can think of question wise.. Thanks in advance for any answers |

As for shipping, trying contacting TCS Crawlers or RPP or one of the other vendors on this site- I bet one of them will ship international. A 55T would be ok, but if you want a bit more wheel speed, like most do in a scaler, toss in a 35T. Lots of ESC's will work, but try to pick up a crawler specific one, like the Tekin FXR or Novak Rooster Crawler. You'll get smooth throttle, drag brake, instant reverse, lipo cutoff, and other useful features. As for upgrades, I would just advise that you head to the scale section of this forum and read through all the millions of builds. You'll get great ideas! Have fun! RYan | |

Love my Honcho. Amazing how well it crawls and good wheel speed with a Reedy StockStar 27T motor/12t pinion. I think of it as a great trail truck.

awesome my mind is set on the Honcho, while not a fan of the yota shell, the alloy links and light buckets are a big selling bonus Im just wondering if its worth upgrading anything upon the inital build. Id prefer to spend the $ upfront and get what is needed all shipped together. So im open to some suggestions for things like diff(spools), better positioned/more secure battery tray, rear discontects, alloy bash plates etc. As I said, its not to be built as a comp rig, but more so its durable and can be handed over to the missus to drive and not break! lol.. I personally havnt seen the honcho in the flesh but by all accounts all the info I find has great reviews! Kep the info comin guys, its greatly appreciated! Is it worth going second hand for a brushed speedy and motor? |
