| Making a chassis
There are several chassis to choose from, so many it may be hard to choose. But, all of the chassis look like they can easily be made by yourself. I don't like my 2.2 chassis and I will probably try to make my own, do you have any suggestion on how to make it? The height? Width? Lenth? ...etc?

There was just a question about this topic. Your best bet is to look around at some of the build-ups for ideas and to get a general idea of how to go about it. Then, when you have a good grasp on how you want to make it, draw up your own design and get to work. Twin verticle plates (like the TLT and many other trucks use) is probably the easiest to start out with - you can make on with a few hand tools, like a drill and a saw. Dimensions really depend on the components you are going to use, and what kind of performance you are looking to get out of your rig.

Use CAD- Cardboard Aided Design. Once you figure out where everything needs to be, use the cardboard as a template to cut the aluminum. The first chassis will be trial and error, the second and later ones will be evolutions based on how much you learn from the mistakes you made on the first one. Buy more aluminum than you think you need. |

If you use your IMAGINATION you can score some free aluminum like I did for the Vertical Smile Test Chassis. And use the advice listed above.
