| Saggy front end
Just fitted some maxx shocks to the tlt crawler. Im running my pack of cells from the top of the front servo across the uppr 4 links to the chassis. When I mount the cells I get the front end dropping my about 10mm. What are the best springs around that would stiffen/raise the front end a tad? |

I'm surprised that it is sagging that much with the battery mount on the links. Do you have the shocks mounted at more than about 45 degrees from vertical? If so, try making them more upright. If you still need stiffer springs, I think the Stampede springs are a bit heavier.

You could also try some pre-load spacers.

Thanks for the replay guys. Well after scratching my head last night I noticed that I may of had the cells tied down too tight over the servo. This led to the other end of the pack pushing down on the chassis hence making it sag. So I ended up using the metal link mounts as brackets and attaching a bit of fuel tubing as a tie down. It now doesnt sag hardly at all. Before modding New method of attaching Last edited by neo; 04-09-2006 at 01:04 AM. |

Good idea on the fuel tube. It's hard to tell from the angle of the truck in the pics, but it looks like at least your front shocks are mounted at a pretty extreme angle. This is going to make them a lot softer and more susceptible to saggy & torque twist. You might want to build some longer and higher upper shock mounts and see if that helps as well. |
