| maybe a newbie winch question, maybe not
anybody ever tried to use an extra motor and esc as a winch? in theory it works. on the bench it worked. i hooked up an extra rooster crawler esc and tekin 45t to the channel on my traxxas 2.4 summit controller for the 3 position switch and had success. i know its alot of extra stuff to mount, but to me its FREE, and different. wiring a bec instead of a second battery to power the second esc wouldnt be to bad, although i could prolly pick up a small pack from one of my micro's to run it. anybody have some thoughts on this?

Buy a 9.99 servo and gut it out leaving the motor in it and then use your speed control to control it and you have a servo winch with less space taken up and alot less weight then the can of a motor armature etc . Tower pro mg995 If your intentions is for free and to be different, or not spend money, then heck hook that bad boy up and enjoy lol.. |

had a brainstorm as well, to try to use the 2 position rocker to switch channels. essentially, use the throttle to drive the truck, then flip the rocker and control winch speed with the throttle. it does take away from simultaneously using the throttle to move the truck while winching... damn ideas lol. keeping my laid off ass confused.
