Default SCX10 or Tundra??

I'm looking to do a scale build. Not gonna go crazy with rock crawling, but I do want something that I can go mob the trails with. I want something fun to drive, realistic looking, and that I can tinker with later on. I also saw a cc01 at the LHS, but the guys there werent too helpful with discussing the pros and cons of each. I used to have a SCX10 that I put a Bronco body on and some bigger wheels and tires. What do you guys think?

Not quite to the point of building everything from scratch. I did do a TLT build with a custom built frame(it was terrible) then i've spent the last 4 years in an area where wasnt a shop, or anyone with an interest in the hobby

best thing that i can tell you is invest yourself in a star and support the site. you will be granted quick access to the for sale and the wanted sections. there are runners and "rebuildables" in there every other day.

not only that you can participate in the awesome giveaways.

RCC Payments<<<<---- well worth it, just search for the word giveaway...

I'll have to do that..
It looks like there is a lot of flexibility with the Axial....the looks of the Tamiya are amazing, but close to $450 without electronics is a little pricey.

honestly - have owned them all - i hate to say it but one of the funnest vehicles i owned for trail running was my Pajero CC01 - that thing took some tinkering to get any flex out of and you had to plan out the power plant because of the high gearing - but it was a blast to run! the guys at the local comps were amazed, heck, one of em dub'd it "the dizzy hampster" cause it would just go! ill probubly be building another one soon.

Yes - i also own 3 scx10's and other various scale crawlers but.... they all wheel like crazy but the scaleness of the cc01 was my fav. and it looks sick with the 1.55's under her!

I gotta agree with TwistedXT on the cc-01 rig. I have one and out of all my rigs I have, this one is the one I will laugh out loud with on the trails. It's just a fun and surprisingly capable setup. We keep toying with the idea of taking the lockers out of the diffs and having an open diff weekend lol.
They also make a great little ride for guests and kids to use.
