Lexan body spraying - snake scale print Ive done a thread search but cant seem to find what i'm looking for. I am planning to spray my new lexan body with lizard or snake scale pattern. I have read on other threads on spraying dark colours first but can't find any stencil sheets to get my pattern. Do they even exist? I've seen at my local stencil sheets like flames etc but no scales. I don't even know if this has been achieved before, Can anyone help? |
theres an article in one of the rc mags i can remember wich one it is but the teqnique is take an index card and cut like little mounds out to make it look like scales and use it as a mask. |
you could use some type of netting to mask it lightly with a dark green and then go over it with light green |

yea i think it was x treme rc you may want to check their websites but i dont know the url. |
I'll have to check the web site, in Australia or at least Sydney we only get racing lines and RC car action, those mentioned mags I havn't heard of. I've thought of the pain-staking cutting out of a vinal sheet like what the kids cover their school books in but thats gonna take a LOT of time and im not that good with a blade. Cheers |
Good information here as well.... http://www.cptnet.com/ken/faq.html |
This one is called Fish Scale but should work the same for snake scales. http://www.cfxpaintworks.com/modules...iewtopic&t=364 |
Check www.rc-car.com. for the August 2006 issue or www.rc411.com . for the may 2006 issue.I'm not sure if you can get the articles or not but those are these ones I posted yesterday.if not, both of the links mentioned above are very good reference sites for a lot of different painting options.Good luck and let us know how it turns out. |
