Default Noob alert

Greetings people . I am looking at purchasing a cr01 or scx10 honcho for so recreational trailing/crawling. I have read the pros and cons of both(well mainly the cr as it seems to have plenty of the latter lol). My question(s), the scx10, is there any recommended upgrades for it out of the box? I like the look of the ground clearance of the cr as the scx looks a little low? I am very much a noob to rock crawling

Welcome to RCC, lots of info here.

I suggest looking in the rig specific sections and reading the stickies at the top of the 1st page. Most questions can be answered there.

You can browse the brand specific forums for the picture archives and build threads to get an idea what the rigs are like.

For which ever rig you pick, drive it stock to get an idea of how it handles and the problems it has. Then pick upgrades one at a time to address the problems you have. You will learn a lot more about your rig and probably save money in the process. Different terrain and different driving styles cause different issues. What might be right for someone else might not be right for you.

The SCX10 is very good out of the box. The only thing I would upgrade or change is the body(just for look, because there are so many with the stock body), the driveshafts, and maybe add a winch.
