Default Mamba Monster esc.

So im thinking of getting an scx10 kit, but to save money at the moment i want to use things i just have around. I have a old Mamba monster around, and plebty of 3s packs. Im looking for a suggestion for a motor that would work well with this.

An old mamba monster is not waterproofed out of the box. That is easily fixed. You could run a low kv non sensored motor and with the right gearing you will have little cogging. The mamba monster can also handle brushed motors. Just depends on what motor option you want to use. the internal bec does leave much to be desired, so an external castle 10 amp might also be of use.

Grab a cheap rebuildable Holmes Hobbies (HH) like the 13t sport for $35 from the link in my sig below. What servo do you plan to use? If it's got much torque then a BEC is a must, otherwise it's just highly recommended.
