The scx10 is a good platform with plenty of options and upgrades.

What body did you find? The wheel base and width will be a big factor.

Re: Help!!

I would go with a RTR Axial SCX10 too, There great out the box and you'll have everything you need apart from batteries and Charger and on the plus you know everything is compatible and works and you can just enjoy the hobby straight away. Then go on from there to customize and modify it how you see fit and after reading some threads on the board here :) Welcome too !

To start, thanks for your service.

The proline 92 jeep Cherokee body fits the dingo wheel base best (11.4 in). So you have two options. Get an rtr and shorten the links to fit the body, or get a dingo and build it up where you get to pick the electronics. Or run the Cherokee body on the rtr wheelbase (most are 12.3 in) but with 7/8 ths of an inch difference the wheels are not going to line up nicely with the wells.

Re: Help!!

The PL 1992 jeep Cherokee body has an 11.8" wheelbase.
That will fit a stock Axial Dingo without modification pretty good.
The Dingo's wb is 11.4"
So the easy way is to buy a Dingo and the body and you're about there...

or

You could buy a used SCX10 of whatever wb and build links (or Dingo).

or

I would buy a used SCX10 chassis, used upgraded axles and go from there.

Re: Help!!

I have been looking at the SCX10. I have to look at the other one, but knowing me ill do the harder way. for some reason i never take the easy route. thanks for all the input guys I am wating to build one to match my jeep XJ that i wheel and the 92 body style is the only one i found and my xj is a 2000 just some slight diferances not to bad. I figured getting into this will be cheaper than buying parts every weekend for my xj or i could take them both out and spend even more lol

Re: Help!!

Well it sounds like your new to rc crawling the body that you want to get is the same frame length with the body will be a lot easier. For a beginner in crawling I would suggest the kit so that you can an idea of how to truck is put together well be very helpful when it comes time for greasing.
