Cool Looking for a Mini/Micro crawler.

It doesn't seem that the interest level is high on !/18th or smaller crawlers. Do they even sell such a thing? I have 2 5 year old boys and want to get them something to mess around with in the house but also something I can tinker with a bit. I used to dabble in rc years ago but much has changed. I think a couple little trucks would be fun but have no idea where to start so I find myself here. lol. any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

There's the ECX Temper. There aren't many minis or micros left because those scales tend to be cyclical. Plus, they aren't nearly as capable as 1/10 scales so people often get bored with them.

Temper 1:18 4WD Rock Crawler Brushed: RTR (ECX01003): ECX RC

I have a losi and it was a ton of fun for the kids. Took their bins of "Thomas the Train" stuff and dumped them into a pile to build a nice crawler course. Now my 7 year old is into an Axial and loves it, burns through 2 battery packs every day after school!

The ECX Temper mentioned above is a great smaller scale rig. Losi Micro Trekker is nice, but smaller. Be sure to check out all the stickies on RCC, especially minis and micros. Find a build you like.

THere's also the RC4WD Mini Gelande with D90 body set.

My kids love my redcat sumo micro crawler now that it has been converted to run lipo packs. They also have a blast with the losi trail trekker and losi micro crawler.

I am a huge fan of the losi trail treker. I had one my son broke an axle. Well a member on this forum has a ton of them and parts. So I orderd a new axle and two more trail trekers from him. To me it's a lot funner than my ex temper. Look up fungi on rcc he can hook you up

HI all, Im new to crawlers, and rc in general, don't mean to hijack a thread, just figured if its already being talked about.

i have a similar question, getting something for my 3 year old and looking for something about 1/18 or 1/16 size for him at a reasonable price and durable.
I am looking at the temper in this post, and this as well,
Crawler Radio Car 1/16th Scale 2.4Ghz Exceed RC MaxStone 4WD Powerful Electric Remote Control Rock Crawler 100% RTR RC Remote Control

are there any other crawlers out there for the same price range that i should look at? I know i'll be replacing this one in a couple of years when he wants a better one, thats fine, just want something for him to learn on and get a feel for.

Any help would be appreciated, and thank you in advance to any replies.

the basher RockSta: Basher RockSta 1/24 4WS Mini Rock Crawler (RTR) (US Warehouse)

the Orlandoo scaler as a kit: Orlandoo OH35P01 4WD 1/35 Crawler Kit (Un-assembled) (US Warehouse)

the Redcat Sumo Crawler:

There's actually more options in micro crawlers than I can remember there being before, and there are parts available for all of them. There are upgrades for most of them as well, thanks to sangyue and fungi, both here on the forum. You can get alloy axle housings and drivelines, aftermarket chassis, scale wheels and most of the major online retailers in the crawler market carry tires and wheels as well.

There's a really cool radio set from hobbyking that has selectable four wheel steering modes with a 2-in-1 rx/esc for $29 also:
Rocksta 4WS Transmitter w/Two-In-One Waterproof Receiver and ESC (US Warehouse)

The only discontinued micros I can think of are the rctrax/yokomo mini Qlo and Nano.

there's the rc4wd 1/18 gelande II, but it's a little more money at $199 for the kit:
RC4WD 1/18 Gelande II RTR with D90 Body Set

and like steenroller mentioned the vaterra slickrock:
Slickrock 1/18th Rock Crawler (VTR01003): Vaterra

Congrats and enjoy, gotta have at least a couple spare batteries! RPP Hobby | Radio Controlled Cars, Trucks, Boats, Helis, Planes, Plastic Models is great, dunno about Canada shipping though.
Hitec X2 ac/dc charger is good.
