| Axial Yeti front end Help- RC Newb here
Hey All, Hoping I can get a little help here. I am new to the RC scene and recently completed my first Kit Build (Axial Yeti). Loved it so much, I just ordered the Bomber and will start that build any day now. I have two issues at hand and i apologize in advance as they are likely amateur questions. 1) During my recent Bashing fun, I handed the controller to my nephew (mistake 1) who accidentally ran the yeti into a concrete wall (my right tire took the brunt of the hit). Instead of trying to explain the issue, i made a video. Steering to the left has been cut in half and steering to the right now makes a strange sound and does not articulate that far either. 2) Issue 2, as you will notice at the end of the video, the front tires are tilted in. I have the rod ends out as far as i can go before they get too loose. Any idea how to correct? Disclaimer- I purchased most of my "upgraded" parts from AsiaTees due to how cheap they were compared to others. On my new Bomber build, i ordered 90% Axial Brand parts. https://youtu.be/FJB6Ii2cq_0 |

What is happening with Issue #1 is the gears in your servo are probably stripped(this has happened to me personally to me). You can usually find replacement gears for most servos. I can't help you much with Issue #2 maybe a couple off-body shots, I could probably help. Hope this helps. -CRC

1) stripped servo 2) check that your hub carriers are not on left-to-right. The one in this picture is installed on the wrong side. |

Agree with these guys on #1. On #2, what holes are you mounted to on the tower? Could put a longer rodend on one side to get more adjustment and keep more thread contact. Definitely check that the carriers are on the proper sides like David said

Hey Guys, Thank you for the help! After much agony and time, I was finally able to get the front end corrected. I took it apart and confirmed the knuckles were on the correct side. I ended up playing with the rod ends some more and got it pretty close. I may need to try some aftermarket rods down the road. As for the servo situation, i figured it wasnt worth replacing gears in that servo and decided to just upgrade. So i ended up ordering the holmes SVH5000 servo. It literally just arrived today so i will be putting that in and hopefully be back in business soon! I did determine the knuckles were on the correct side and ended up taking half of the front end apart and put on the stock links and got it worked out. As for servo, I went ahead and ordered a Holmes servo and just hooked it up. Loving it so far!! Thanks for the help guys Last edited by THX_138; 10-28-2017 at 10:35 PM. |
