How much do you want to extend it? Are you running maxx or Revo style rod ends? If so,you can probly get nearly an inch longer links switching to Jato ends. The Jato ends have a longer body than the Revo ends so it'll make the links longer

At a comp,if I wanna adjust my wheelbase a little for a certain coarse,I'll switch between the two.

If that won't work, get some #8 all thread and 1/4" brakeline or carbon arrow shafts and build to your specs. It's super easy and all you really need is a tape measure, hack saw and a small file.

yes. they can be lengthend - you put in longer ones (buy them or make them)

and read around, there is a thread that goes over the calculatoins involved in making them longer - that will help you make them larger

as far as making the setup bigger than a 1/10, then yes, you can make it 5 feet long and 3 feet tall if you want, but remember that your axles are only so wide (and will only look scale to a certain degree of size)
