It's sad they are recreating this POS. And for $400? They are high. And I hope it fails miserably.

Well, they're saving money on the body because that thing doesn't look very hard to produce. LOL

9.9v must be 3s LiFe? $400 is a bit steep, but curious to see the actual platform they put together and what they interpret as hobby grade. I will have to buy they 1:64 rc though, love my hotwheels.

Yeah I saw that. So you can have a cracked window just like the real disaster! They did say it was limited so I'm guessing they only had a couple hundred available. Still, I can't see who would waste $400 on that thing!

I thought that too. Elon is a troll albeit a filthy rich one. But somehow he's getting people to buy his junk. Who in their right mind would pay for something that looks like the Cybertruck?

In the context of an RC, or a full size vehicle? Possibilities include: 1) People who care more about stats / function / performance metrics than style. 2) People who have unconventional style tastes. 3) People who want attention / want to stand out. 4) People who can turn unusual choices into revenue, such as those with monetized YouTube channels. I just saw this online earlier today. Ugly as ****, just like the real thing. As usual the laughable "built with hobby grade parts". Although I am far from interested in one, I've got to admit that this has a lot of "scale" potential for realistic drivetrain, etc, although I would not count on Hot Wheels to pull it off |

okay i get the up-scaling (no pun intended) of price because of the market they are catering to (people whoi have a bajillion dollars for tesla trucks?) but... since when has HOTWHEELS ever... EVER released a $400 RC??!?! i really like hotwheels. because they make collectables that are a BUCK. anyone can collect them. but then they come out with this for $400???? im really curious to see how this thing performs, regardless of what lid is on it. i'm with MrBlank, if these hit discount or something (news of selling out doesn't look good) maybe these can be repurposed with different bodies. time will tell but at $400... BLEH. *my cubicle neighbor just saw me looking at it and says "FOUR HUNDRED? is it made out of the same metal as the real truck?" i scrolled down while saying "it BETTER be... NOPE. plastic." The concept of a Tesla electric truck? Very cool. The look of it? LOL It looks like something out of a 1980's video game. Or what a car from the future looks like in a movie made in 1990. I just can't believe that's their final design. So many ways they could have gone with this concept. |
