| build with realism involved.
I want to build a tube crawler, but I want to do it based on a body design with a cage based on realism, not the wild designs others have. I want to use brake line, etc. and possibly the drivetrain from my wheely king. I built an aluminum chassis already, I just want to do something different. I've built fullsize racecars and mudtrucks before, so I'm not really hesitant to the design aspect, I just want it to look like something that could actually have a real counterpart. Does anyone out there have any ideas or input for me? Thanks in advance.

IMEX has some MAXX mud terrains that look just like TSL's. I had a set on my REVO 2.5. it looked awesome with my custom painted Titan truck body.

I picked a truck body for my tuber rig. I'm gonna use the '70 Ford f100 shortbed from proline to do the build. I know its not exactly ideal for a tuber, but I really like that body.... I had one when I was a teenager (6cyl/ 3speed on 33s). I always wanted to build a crawler style vehicle out of it, but I sold it too soon. Now all I have is my Xterra and a kid on the way, so, I'm going small scale instead.

got some stuff to show ya! here's another one thats all for now more soon to come. I'm not quite done with the tube work, and I've got some geometry to do. I've also got to figure where the shocks are going. |

They do have a nice apperance. The rubber compound however is rock hard and they work as good as,or maybe even worse than a solid forklift tire would in crawling. IMO,the Moab will be your closest match to a swamper that actually works decent. That being said,I'd like to see something for the bigger builds thats close to scale with a TSL,BFG Krawler,IROK,Creepy Crawler and/or the TSL Bogger. We NEED a tire for the super class rigs that works well and will clean out. The Moabs,IMHO,don't clean out for nothing. Once you get in the wet dirt or mud, your spinning everywhere. | |

I'd like to have more pics, but I haven't got the body on yet. I painted the chassis Gunmetal Grey, and just reassembled the truck. So far so good. I went to my LHS and added a new feind (not friend) to my collection. I ordered an F350 Hi Lift and wanted some input on what to look for, as far as breakage, etc. Is there anything I should look for while I build too?
