Default comp rig gear ratio

hey guys
i have a comp ready sw2 tlt

55turn lathe
with hard brushes
locked and loaded pede tranny locked axles the usual im going to my first comp and i was wondering what gear setup i should run.

87tooth 14tooth pinion?

im running a 84 tooth spur and 12 tooth pinion right now

The proper ratio is really more dependent on preference. The best all-around ratio is probably the 14/87 but you should be getting close to the same ratio with 12/84. I would maybe get yourself an 87T spur and then buy a few different pinions and experiment. What I do is run a rather low ratio with a higher voltage battery so I have some extra wheelspeed should I need it.

i have an 87 tooth sur allready im gunna get a 14tooth pinion and try it out.
