Default clocking WK trans???

I'm in the process of getting everything together to make my first tuber. I am going to use the Wheely king running gear. I have read on here that people "clock" their transmission. What is the purpose of this. Is it to lower the CG? Also, how do I clock in a scratch built chassis?
