It will go faster, I did it with mine for awhile before I upgraded my motor and ESC. There is no voltage cut off so beware!

Motor isn't the problem (although it will burn out pretty quickly) it is the ESC. The ESC doesn't have a cutoff built in, so there is no way for you to know really when the battery volts drop into the unsafe voltage. You don't want to risk permanently damaging the battery or worse yet causing it to vent and potentially catch fire. I have seen it happen once in an E-Maxx, had it happen to me in an airplane (but it was caused by a crash). The Novak cut-off I hear is a bit more reliable than most, so it might be a good one to invest in. If you plan to go brushless though, many of the popular ones have LVC built in. Might be the better option if you are going 3s, the motor and ESC can take it.

Check the Max Amps site. I read something about the Novak one and the blue case XL-5 not working together on there. They also have low voltage alarms that plug into you balance taps.

x2, I have heard that the blues don't work the best, if at all, with most of the LVC's.
