Default Drachen's Sakura D3 "Der Drache"

Picked up a Sakura D3 CS sport chassis from my LHS on a whim and decided to make it mean. A little insight about the title. "Der Drache" is German, meaning "The Dragon"
Electronics:
  • Tekin 17.5T Redline Brushless Motor
  • Castle Creations Mamba Max Pro ESC
  • HiTec HS-5645MG Servo
  • Spektrum SR300 Receiver
  • Venom 2Cell 5000Mah Hardcase Lipo
Gearing:
Stock (except for a 26T 32p pinion)
Counter Steer is the stock 2.14~ ratio

How it looked before I started the project.

Shock bubbles!
And finally the finished chassis.

I have it all wired up nicely and it seems to work really well. Definitely becoming one of my favorites. I ordered a Toyota Supra body online and it should be here sometime in the coming week! I'll keep updating this post as i start to change some of those pulley gears over to metal and replace the front steering components to aluminum. It drifts!!

Default Re: Drachen's Sakura D3 "Der Drache"

Well since i'm the new kid on the block I was forced to drift with this s13 body we dubbed the "draggin" because it has no rear mounting positions and drags on the ground like a MOTHER. Anyways. Slow progress on the supra body and hopefully my shiny parts will come over from Hong Kong in the next couple weeks. Ordered a front one way differential and some aluminum pulley gears to dial down the CS ratio.

Posed with Simple Orange.
