I've got several of these to play around with, with the kids. I have one brushless and two brushed for them since they're a lot slower. I just finished up putting one together with a new body and the rear diff slips. I went for a maiden cruise around the house with it and it did good. There's a little slop in the steering from using a JR servo that I need to tighten up. But when I bumped into a child's Ugg boot I attempted to push it. The front tires both lost traction and the rear diff started slipping internally. It sounded like it was the pinion slipping on the diff ball. So I tried to shim this up with a washer and it was too big not allowing the housing to bolt back together. Aside from cutting a spacer out of a soda can, what other approach should I take? Both gear's teeth are fine, as it was brand new. I can roll the car on the floor and it'll do the same by hand and it will also do it from a full throttle take off. I don't want to hand this last one over to my kids if they're just gonna destroy the rear diff. |
