Default RC10DS - Mustang to Mustang?

Back in June 2013 i purchased an Electric DS to run on the street. i dropped in a castle creations sidewinder 3 and topped it off with a freshly painted red and black HPI Mustang body. I didn't do much to the car when i got it other than add the body and electrics.

Had some fun running it but decided to break it down and redo the car at the end of 2018. This was the chassis when breaking her down, not crazy about the purple RPM turnbuckle ends or the black coated chassis.

I want to restore this car in the same form as this photo of a car i restored for my buddy...but with a few differences.

Ive been polishing a "C" stamped chassis and noseplate.

Associated CVD's for the rear end and wide 12mm hex drives

Battery holder, rear bulkhead and a Factory Works battery brace mounted

Shock Tower, rear suspension arms, rear stabilizer mounted. Stainless steel hardware replaces stock steel.

Front end mounted. Arms, Shock tower and front stabilizer. Stainless steel hardware used upfront as well.

Front bumper..

MIP Ball bearing steering assembly keeps things simple and tidy.

HPI Vintage chrome wheels and tires used.

This DS is slowly becoming cooler than stock....

When working on this i had thoughts of a new body. Initially i was going to paint and mount a 69 Camaro body like my buddy's DS.
Then i thought of making things easier and using a body that was gifted to me by a buddy. A Vaterra 67 Mustang Fastback body.
Its a really cool body and Ive setup the DS to accommodate the Mustang's wheelbase. Unfortunately it will need new mounting holes.
I dont like extra mounting holes on a body so im still on the fence on using this body.

Here is a quick mock up...

I may mount this body or i may trim and paint a new 66 Mustang coupe body..but at least now i got the wheelbase to match them.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks again! The DS is one of my favorite models, both nitro and electric.
