| Anyone else here fly heli's?
I did for a bunch of years. Got the the point where I could competently fly ccpm but never quite made it to inverted flight. Not sure why I parked them, I think it might been because of how stressful ccpm can be but over time I just sort of drifted away from helicopters and landed on crawlers. I decided it was time pull out the old whirly-birds though. I have a 120sr and a 130x that I run off a dx6i. I know, comically old gear, but it works. I was quite pleased with myself when I realized I had bought brand batteries for the birds beofre I hangared them and they were nicely set to storage voltage so even after 5 yrs in a box they're good as new. I had the 120sr out for a quick flight this morning. I forgot how intolerant to any wind these things are. There was just a light breeze and that made it more annoying than fun. I'm starting to remember why I stopped flying.. Glad I pulled them out but I also remember why I parked them.. |

I used to play with an mcpx, could do inverted alright, been thinking of picking up a new Nano v2 but once awhile the reason why I parked the mcpx comes to mind, it really did annoy the crap out of me lol

Yeah, I'm quickly finding (re-finding?) that heli's are more frustrating than they are fun for me. I'm gonna keep at this for a bit and see if it turns fun again once my skills come back a bit but....

I just found them finicky and inconsistent. Atleast mine was. It was so fragile that simple turning it off and on would completely change how it flew, never mind sneezing at it in the wrong direction led to buying replacement parts. Still want another one, probably because I still have the DX7S collecting dust.

I have a couple, 100, 300 and 450 size. But I haven't flown them in years. No time and space for the big one. WLToys 911 v2 WLToys 913 Walkera V450D03 |
