Re: NC check in thread.

Hertford County NC checking in, I've read through the post and no one is close to link up and trail with, sorta new to the forum. So for now as the garage sits here are my kits:
Losi5ive
Mbx7reco
Tekno sc410 v1.0
TLR 22sct v1.0
TRX4
Vaterra Ascender K5
On a side note: Ron Ayers (GRC) in Greenville NC has a decent hobby shop, One of the guys that works there is sorta kinda into crawlers. They normally carry kits in the shop, but very race heavy due to the outdoor track they also have.

I live in Asheboro NC and my son and I are slowly getting into the hobby. I just bought a scx10 ii trail honcho for his first rig and I'm planning to get the 68 Ford ascender.

They have a lot of stuff for axial. And the guys are always friendly on the phone. I called and aggrevated the heck out of them with all my newbie questions and they answered any and everything that I asked. Awesome customer service.

On the topic, I'll revise my "review" of Ho-B RC @ Northgate, since I visited again this week. World of difference - so dramatic I even asked the guy working there if there had been a management change or something. The entire layout of the store had been shifted, the shelves were PACKED with awesome RC's of all types, the tracks had been rearranged, and the place was CLEAN! Nearly every model was marked down ~5-10% from online prices (redcat gen7 sport for 175, bronco trx4 for $440) which was pretty cool. A dad walked-in with his two kids while waiting for a movie, had never really even seen RC cars, and since the joint was 20 mins from closing, the employee let all three of them rent three slot cars for $10. I asked him if they had a 2s lipo with a Traxxas connector and his response was along the lines of "Not yet but pick one and we'll make it happen" - I picked a 5000mah battery and he immediately soldered on a Traxxas connector, didn't even charge me for it (the soldering or the connector.. obviously I paid for the battery).

He was pretty candid that they don't do a ton of crawler stuff, but he did seem really excited about their new traxxas kits and clearly knew what he was doing. I'll be buying whatever parts they have in stock for me whenever I can from now on just to support the LHS since I was so impressed with how that employee was handling not just myself, but every customer in the store.

Anderson R/C is worth the drive down. For the size of the showroom it is stuffed full. They have planes, drones, helis, cars, trucks, buggies, etc. and parts galore. Take the time to look around. Also used rc items for sale. It's an hour and 20 min drive for me and my bro. We spend about 1.5-2 hrs there looking, then we hit Lexington BBQ on the way home.

Hi. Crawler from Minnesota. Twin cities area. I’m visiting NC Sunday Monday Tuesday the last week of July and I’m staying in Rocky Mount. I read about battle park. I’m hoping it’s worth packing a rig. I’m looking to see if anyone can show me the good stuff and if there are any LHS I should shop at. Thanks in advance
