Hey!...new guys in Cuyahoga Falls

My buddy and I are looking for folks to trail with. Running a slightly modified SCX10 Deadbolt and a more scale SCX10 Cherokee.
Have really enjoyed re-exploring hiking trails I loved as a kid in the area...and was thrilled to see posts here and elsewhere of others doing the same trails. (giJoe, et all)

A local club's website is no longer accepting registration however, and I don't see their Fall/Winter schedule anywhere (NOSTA I think)

Anyone looking for a new member, or someone to hike with? No comp stuff yet but who knows (am 54 yr old! lol)

Planning on hiking Sats and Suns.

So...who and where is already happening in my area?

Sounds like a friendly group. I'm in Columbus and when I was really into this stuff it seemed no one else was around so I was driving hours each way to play with a couple other people. Then the scene in Cols got much bigger and I didn't have to drive far at all. Now it's dead again.

I joined the Summit County Crawlers group on facebook a while back, looks like the meet up around the akron area pretty regularly. I believe they even got some land from the city to build an rc park on this year. I seen that they recently met up at Copley Park... i'd suggest hopping on the facebook and looking them up.

Ohio rc scale Guru's is a closed group on Facebook with over 1,200 members, most of the members being in Columbus area but they are all over Ohio along with other states. GiJoe ( also one of our members ) still runs all the time and meets with people from our group in the Cleveland area frequently. And a few other guys around Elyria too. Even if Facebook isn't your cup of tea you could make some b.s. page just to get in our group which has lot's of benefits to it and we also have other members well into there 50's as well. If your interested just pm me and I'll get you setup in our group.

Sorry, haven't spent much time on these forums. Yea, the group is Summit County Crawlers, we meet most Sundays at 1 unless it's deathly cold or pouring rain! We run at the Derby Downs hillside, Flint Trail in Ellet, Copley Park, Whipps Ledges, Virginia Kendall and are always checking out new spots, too! Stop on by and check us out, always down for new people to run with!

As for NOSTR, the reason it is not accepting new members at the moment is they are revamping the forums and trying to redo the security setup to help with the mass flood of spammers that recently crippled it.

Also, blazer is correct, we have about 2 acres of fenced in land coming to us in the next month or so we will be building the biggest crawling/scaler complex around on!
