Question Dying parts

I have a Delrin chassis that is black and i wanted to change the color of it but delrin is slick so Im weary of just painting it to flake off. Is it possible to dye delrin. Im asking because delrin seems to not be your normal plastic, its hard cast. Another thing I would want to change the color of is the axle housings. I thought that would be cool to. Both are black so Im not sure how hard it will be to lay down a lighter color. Thanks guys

you can not dye black delrin , black is black ...you will need a white delrin to dye if that is what you are asking ...

yeah i was just hoping it would be possible. I have some good painting skills so if I prep the chassis correctly the paint should stick good. i think Im gonna go with something flashy like a hot green

Paint is not going to stick to Delrin. I wouldn't waste your time with it. Black Delrin is black, and that's about all it is going to be.

yes dye will take to white delrin, our friend dyed his white mini juice red. he used rit dye from the grocery store and you have to be careful not to over heat the delrin while dyeing it. if I can find a pic I'll post it, it turned out awesome! almost a dark blood red
