I'll do a how to on the next one, didn't take enough pics this time around. I will let you guys in on a little secret. When modding an axial cage, there is a form of plastic epoxy from the brand Bondo that comes in what's called a bumper repair kit. The epoxy dries gloss black and when hit with 1000 grit sand paper it turns flat black just like the cage so it's great for filling in gaps in the plastic and helps the cage turn out to look like it was molded that way from the factory. I use it only as a filler tho, the above down bars were extended using pieces of the roof I cut off and 1" long set screws to hold the pieces together and then M3 screws to attach the down bars at the bottom to the rest of the chassis. Any gaps fill with the epoxy then file and sand as needed. |
