Re: Wheel wells, homemade 1 Attachment(s) I rob Tupperware or save plastic stuff from packaging. Usually one screw through shock mount area and a hole or two into frame. Sammy build. http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/1-5-s...ml#post4760695 |
Re: Wheel wells, homemade 1 Attachment(s) I made mine out of cool whip containers, and like Sczcerba said, a couple screws. |
Re: Wheel wells, homemade Cheap Zip loc containers or the container that cd's come in. I usually spray them with undercoating to give them a little texture or you can just paint them black. http://i951.photobucket.com/albums/a...ldpix008-1.jpg http://i951.photobucket.com/albums/a...o/101_1389.jpg http://i951.photobucket.com/albums/a...o/101_1388.jpg |
Re: Wheel wells, homemade I built mine out of .006 tin. Just soldered it together. http://i855.photobucket.com/albums/a...psqngipthm.jpg |
Re: Wheel wells, homemade I'm using tv dinner trays. |
Re: Wheel wells, homemade That's a good idea will have to do that ! How much cleaner does it keep the esc and stuff ? |
Re: Wheel wells, homemade It does help keep things a little cleaner. |
Re: Wheel wells, homemade Have to look at doing this on my builds adds looks but still functions |
Re: Wheel wells, homemade It helps a lot, especially if you can get them to rub on the inside of the body, just understand that unlike a 1:1 it's not attached to the fenders, and if you go driving through water it's all going to get wet anyways, but for mud or dust, it keeps it fairly clean. |
Re: Wheel wells, homemade for my Honcho body... Note: all painted surfaces were applied onto the interior surfaces. I used the common flexible, thin walled deli cups sold for packing potato salad and such. I prefer the highly flexible cups that conform well to the body's wheel wells. Mine are simply secured in place using the single stud holding the upper shock eye to the hoop/mount. Has held up fine and stays positioned... sooo... good enough. I first painted mine using Tamiya RC paint... it didn't hold up very well... Though the plastic liners were washed and treated for any surfaces oils... I think I needed to also lightly sand, to ensure a proper adhesion. http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/...ps76ea69cb.jpg http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/...ps032a5bff.jpg http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/...ps941c16ca.jpg http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5eccef1b.jpg http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/...psfcd9fc83.jpg http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5223627f.jpg Round II... after peeling off the failing silver rc paint... I sanded the liner's upper surfaces lightly... cleaned and painted them black using plastic dip in a rattle can. The PD has held up perfectly and flexes well 8) http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/...ps20f1dd57.jpg |
