| Metallic blue and fluorescent orange
Hey all, I am painting a bug body with Tamiya rattle cans (like the title says) metallic blue and fluorescent orange. I was advised by the LHS to back the fluorescent orange with white, I just sprayed the metallic blue and am finding it a little translucent . I am happy with the way the blue looks right now I don't want to muck it up with the fluorescent at all, I am thinking I should back the blue before I spray the orange. Would the white work on the metallic blue or should I pick up a can of silver to back it? What do you all think?

Yes, back the blue first with silver. Once your orange is painted, everything can be backed with the white.

I will for sure, gonna have to get on photobucket I guess. Never been one to post much, that explains the 2005 join date but low post count! Your Bug looks sweet! Mines gonna be orange body line down including fenders and the low spots on the hood where your flames are, I've been taking my time on this one its my first try with liquid mask so far it looks good but one of the window masks lifted in the corner! Oh well maybe next one will get liquid mask on the windows.

If you use a wood "pick" and some car wax, the overspray can be gently scraped off.

JatoTheRipper I will post some pics once I am able, been here since 2005 but never posted so still classed a newbie and need some more posts to be able to post pics it seems. It is an amazing colour combo but sadly something happened with parts of the hood that I masked off, I am not sure what happened but when I removed the liquid mask it may have been too thin or the paint too thick because it left a jagged edge on the blue. I can hid that edge with some thin pinstripe around the edge on the outside of the body. It's not ideal but for my first time using liquid mask I can deal with it since the rest of the masking turned out great.
