"The molded in gas tank detail serves as the spot for putting the rear body mount holes through and the location of the holes will depend on your choice of chassis and body cab. "

That should allow for it to work on all the "standard" 1/10th trail truck chassis, but it did specify using Proline cab bodies, probably for the height to match up properly to the roofline...

It's darn pricey, but VERY nice, especially like the trick spare mount that is moveable - allowing for variations in tire diameter!

Shoot, I might need to eventually get a spare $100 or so for a cab and this.

Probably not until I get around to picking up another trail rig - WAY down the road...

'Cause I already have a spare Vaterra K10 body & cage setup, waiting for paint!

Maybe if Proline releases a nice big Unimog cab, then I can get a TRX-4 chassis or Sport RTR...

Pretty please?

Ok, this cage I actually really like. I'm going to have to pick this up. Just need to figure out which truck.

I thought it would look good behind the 66 c10. But I'm a sucker for that body style chevy.

The main thing with half-cages is being able to line up the height with the roofline, and of course the width.

Since a typical Proline cab body is 6" tall and 8" wide - I'd keep that in mind.

My Vaterra K10 cab is less than 5" tall (width is however still the same at 8") - it would be best for me to stick with the Vaterra cage...

But if I installed a Proline cab on my chassis, then this would look far better.

A little long for what I was thinking it for. Guess I need another rig.

I have TRX-4 tactical and wondering how well it would fit the 12.8 wheelbase with certain body combos

Half-cages should work with most wheelbases, as you don't typically run a back bumper with them, and they don't have fenders.

I wouldn't be concerned about a 12.8 wheelbase chassis working properly...

Take off the spare mount and I really like it. Spare tires on RCs are anchors.

hmm after seeing the tech dwgs, i like it. i might get one and see how low i can slam it down on my losi scaler.
edit: i got ideas growing for different "tube" configurations because i agree with Jato, but i think if the tire was laying down flat id be ok with it.

so true. However their absence won’t win you love in the scale world...at least it shouldn’t.

I like finding a happy medium - that's why I picked up a smaller spare tire (not using the included foam inside it) and a lighter plastic wheel for my Ascender K10 after going to a smaller wheel and tire set.

Compare the mounted new setup to the original resting behind it for an example:
