Re: Proline ?????? Dodge ram 4x4

While I have no interest in buying one, I appreciate that it's 0.060" Lexan instead of the typical 0.040" I always wondered why non-race rc's don't have thicker bodies? It makes a big difference in longevity on a basher, or a crawler that sees regular drop offs and roll overs. Ramchargers have always been ugly, so I think it looks pretty accurate!

Doesn't do it for me. Proline has the capability of producing a
better body than this.

Re: Proline ?????? Dodge ram 4x4

Well for those not liking the details this is some salt for your wounds:

From the product page " Pro-Line is proud to introduce one of the highest detailed polycarbonate bodies ever created by the Pro-Line R & D department: the 1977 Dodge Ramcharger body for Scale Crawlers! This fully-licensed body captures all the scale details of the legendary Dodge 4x4 and lets you, the builder, choose which body configuration (instructions) to finish off your 12.3" wheelbase rig.

That’s right: Pro-Line has included all the elements needed for you to build your dream truck. Will you style your Ramcharger as the classic open-air Pick-up to show off the included highly detailed interior with add-on dashboard? Or will you use the included camper-shell to create that rugged 4x4 SUV style?"

They seem to be focused on the included interior but really the lack of a grill is likely the source of most of the complaints

I look at that orange truck and all I can think about is how much worse it would look if I did it. I have a feeling there are going to be a lot of people pissed off after dropping $70 on this body.

I drive a 89 Dodge D100 everyday. I grew up with Mopar....I was excited about this release but now I'm disappointed. The grill sticker looks the part but with out that it lacks the details. It just doesn't look right. I wanted it for a monster truck, mudtruck but it's not strong enough with that removable top. Sadness...

That wont last forever, they are geared towards crawlers and that's fine, but over all it just doesnt look right, not worth $70 for my uses.

I see an under achieving generic looking shell with removeable top and dodge stickers. Did I miss something special?

im not trying to defend this thing at all, but 3M automotive grade double sided will hold that on longer than you need it to.
or shoe goo/E600.

I'll get it despite the flaws just to complete my Big 3 SUV trifecta but it sure looks like you could've done alot better Proline.

That's freaking painful to look at! If this was a 1:1 you couldn't take it out in the rain because the interior would be soaked.

Lexan never seems to fit properly when the body is multiple pieces. This is a good example what a lot of bodies end up looking like.

Proline should have done two different bodies or just a solid piece and let people cut the tops off.

It looks like plenty of 3D print guys are going to do Proline's job and offer hard plastic grilles.

To be fair, it was one of the prototypes before they redid it .

You're apparently supposed to keep the roof support structure if you plan to use the top, you cant go back and forth between them.

The cage he put in also looks like it might be pushing the windsheild forward and tweaking the windows, but I'm only guessing.

Anyway I agree two different versions would have been nice. and I'm not sure how they expect us to secure the body with the camper on as the body clips end up on top of the back seats. So do they expect us to pull the top off every time we mount and unmount the body?

I was for sure getting one of these but now I'm back on the fence.

Oh dang thats a good point about the body clips.
Forget what I said about the 3m double sided tape. Better use Velcro instead.

I'm really wanting to like this body just to match my 1:1, but the more I see I'm wondering about it! I'd like them to improve it a bit more!! That printed grill is very cool!! It's so close but lacking!!
