Duh, you can't use purple power to get it down to white, you need white power. Go to the store and get Easy Off full strength oven cleaner. |

Are you sure its not dye? If the paint isn't all that bad or thick, I'd just go ahead and sand it, prep it, and paint it. |

Wal-Mart sells a stripper in the paint/varnish ilse that is really thck and does not take too long. If it is not a dye this will work.

How long did you let the oven cleaner stay on? I have only done it once and it worked fantabulous. I put the body in a thick plastic trash bag, spritzed it down with Easy off and folded the top over to kinda seal it and set it out in the sun. Then I let it sit for 10 or 12 hours, tooth brushed it and spritzed it down again and repeated until all the paint was off. I wouldnt take the chance with other stuff ruining the plastic. But again, if its not all that bad, sand it and prime and paint over the purple. If its not coming off, who knows what kind of paint it is. Actually I did it to another body to, a Radio Shack Mangler Bronco body but didn't get it off all the way, need to finish it but Easy Off worked pretty well on that too. |

If it has automotive enamel base coat/clear coat Easy Off will not take the paint off. -Mike |

| removing paint from hard body This stuff works better than anything else I have ever used. Make sure you use it in a sealed bag/container as this produces the best results. |

Guys... One word ------------ Brake Fluid! Works like a charm on any paint but wont attack the plastic. Only need to soak it for a couple of hours and the paint should be starting to come loose. and yes, I know it was 2 words..... |

Yep, brake fluid works well. It takes some time, but does work. Eventually got through all 7 colors of paint on my bruiser body. |

I used brake fluid to strip my Hi-lux as well and had to do very minor sanding afterwards. It's cheap too! |

in agreement with others, use oven cleaner in a trash bag and just spritz the body down. Let it soak in and periodically check on it. Other then that just sand it really well and repaint.

It all depends on what kind of paint is on the body. I did a couple of them that brake fluid or oven cleaner worked real well. I had one body that the paint wouldn't come off of no matter what I tried. I think I could have use dynamite and it would have stayed on.

You need to change your brake fluid then obijuan. If it's scale paint then eazy off will work. If you want use paint thinner, try putting some bologna and paint thinner together and put it on a car. Let the sun back and guess what you got??? The bologna and thinner will eat the paint down to the metal so you get a cool looking design, also you can do this to your enemy's car, I've seen it done and it does work. Not sure on plastic though but I bet it would.
