| i hear ya there! ya see, i know that the other companies like axial, losi, ect. have a ton a spares/hop-ups readily available, but i just love this truck. i used to think that axial's were crap. even though i had never seen one in person. (i know, i know, thats STUPID) when i DID finally get to fool around with one i thought WOW!, not too bad. BUT, that thought was followed with "yea, not bad. but it's no pti". i'm not saying that the pti RTR or kit's are even close to an axial RTR. But my pti is great because i made it that way. let's face it, the after market for this truck is, well, there is no after market for this truck. so, off to the cnc or bridgeport i go to fab parts. to me that is why i love this rig. it's a do-it-yourself rig. and theres no question about that. however, IMO, it would be really neat to see some real after market parts. ok now that i'm done talking about my feelings LOL....hey K_B, you helped me out a while ago with some gear questions i had. your info was VERY useful and worked like a charm. many thanks!! |

That is the very reason why guys stuck with the Goliath as long as they did. The local guys were busting my chops so bad because I ran a Goliath. I didn't care that it wasn't quite up to par with the rest. I liked it because it was different from everybody else. That, and I had so many damn hours into it at that point, I wasn't about to give up on it Glad I could help out with the gears! |

Uh... yeah... about that... There does come a point where the return on investment doesn't make it worth it. Too time consuming to keep the thing running, so I had to give it up in favor of that damn Losi. The Losi didn't require anything but skill to be competitive. Now I just gotta find some skill... I still have the Goliath. I've been meaning to turn it into some sort of scaler, but again, I got the Honcho. About 4 hours of building and I had something that would take me weeks to do and require the same amount of money with the Goliath. Be sure to ask Bruce about it. He's the one who gave me so much shit about it |

I think that's pretty much everyone's story. The Goliath was never intended to be a crawler anyway. PTI Paul saw where the market was going early on. I just don't think he had the resources to adapt like he wanted to.
