New message on PTI homepage this morning

I was on last night looking at specs since I found a local steal on a 1:18 Goliath Micro Monster Truck. I was considering picking it up to gut for my scale project. From the chatter about the axles on here, I may avoid it. Does anyone know the width of the 1:18 Goliath Axles? I guess I will have to check to see if it has plastic or metal gears.

Buy it..It would work fine for a scaler..The ring and pinion are from a TC3, so you can replace them easily if you need to..The cases on my Goliath scaler started failing before the gears did..

I went to ptiracing.net and it still has the same message..pti has been sold. Please check back in March.

I don't think you're missing anything. As far as I can tell, PTI is loooooong gone. As for buying a used one, I wouldn't unless you've got a source for parts. Finding axle cases will be a challenge at best. The gears will be the least of your problems.

I did a quick search on "pti goliath" and discovered that their website is still active and you can even reach their online shop and still buy parts via paypal. If anyone else finds this, don't buy anything. The best-case scenario is that the payment will be rejected. However, there's a chance your payment will go through, but you won't get any parts, obviously.

Their home page was a couple guys holding trophies up until the other night. I thought that was it until that went up, but maybe I was going to a different page. Guess I will keep looking or offer him next to nothing for it

Yup, I got yanked when they first went out of business. I had to file a payal claim and get my refund that way.

LOL I saw this thread this morning and got excited. Thought they were finally opening..still have my set of axles with the aluminum knuckle mod
