Your thoughts on this absolutely unnecessary XV-01 Setup? So this quarantine thing has gotten me pretty bored, so I decided to order myself a Tamiya XV-01 Subaru WRX kit. Pretty normal right? Until you hear that I'm putting a Castle MambaX with a 1410 3800Kv SCT motor........On 3s. So anyways, here's the build: -Castle MambaX with Castle 1410-3800KV -Savox 1257TG super speed servo -77t Slipper Clutched spur, 22t pinion (may change) -XV-01 reinforced drive belt -60wt shock oil front and rear -7k front diff fluid, 2k rear -Traxxas receiver and Transmitter because I've got a couple of those layin around I'm also doing a camo vinyl wrap job with a carbon fibre hood, it might turn out good, but I really don't know. Do you guys think it can handle the power without snapping some axels if I keep my hand from going trigger happy? |
Re: Your thoughts on this absolutely unnecessary XV-01 Setup? Keep us posted on the build. The XV01 has been on my want list for a while. I’ll probably end up buying one when I get all my other projects complete. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Your thoughts on this absolutely unnecessary XV-01 Setup? I'm currently waiting for the kit to arrive, might be a week, but I will do :) |
Re: Your thoughts on this absolutely unnecessary XV-01 Setup? That motor on 2s is almost ludicrous in my Rustler. I can't comprehend the level of out of control on 3s with relatively small rally tires. Seeing as how much of the drivetrain is plastic I predict premature failure as a result of your experiment. Just make sure to post vids of its first runs please. |
Re: Your thoughts on this absolutely unnecessary XV-01 Setup? I'm probably going to adjust the motor setting through the app, make the throttle curve really flat and limit the peak power if possible. I'm using it for heavy bashing, and I figured that a more powerful motor would run cooler. That may be bad logic though..... |
Re: Your thoughts on this absolutely unnecessary XV-01 Setup? 3800Kv might be okay if you can gear it down. Should be a lot of fun. Use a lot of Tamiya anti-wear grease on the diff gears if it came with it. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk |
