| question on the plastic motor plates
What is the point of them and should i just use locknuts on the back side to hold the motors in place. I am a little stumped over the clear plastic covers thow. Is this so you can see your gears. Thanks in advance. |

but is that what it is for. This is my first moa rig and just seems wierd they would use something like that. I dont mind using them just want to make sure that is what they are for not a motor spacer or something.

Yes they are meant as a clear cover for the gear case, some people use them, some dont. Some suspension links contact them so people will just run some tape or whatever instead of running the cover. Mine are all cracked and busted up. Look at everyone's build threads, it can teach you a lot on how things are set up if you cant figure out how to put this and that together. Lets see some pictures too! Nathan |

I'm not a fan of those lexan covers....I really wish RC4WD would just make a nice thin piece of aluminum to cover the gearcase...first thing I do is pull them off and put duct tape over the holes. |

I used to use duct tape on mine but i ran out one time so i put the little covers on there and they work ok. One thing you can do is use the fixed hole to hold the cover and the adjusting hole under it. If you are using the stock pinions you can use all 4 motor holes and they line up but remember, its just a dust cover. |

I use the stock thick plastic one to trace onto lexan. I then cut the lexan and use those for the covers. They work great and are nice and thin. |

I used a piece of cut-off scrap from around a lexan body. Those thick covers are waaayyyy overkill and I had mentioned it to RC4WD in the their thread on the Bully 2's. I guess they either have a huge supply of the thick one's left to go through...or it was just another idea that went in one ear and out the other. | |
