Default Servo for RTR Bully 2

Hey guys, so I have a new Hitec 7955TG servo that never got put into a build. If I were to need or want to replace the stock servo in my Bully 2 RTR, will the BEC that comes with the Bully 2 RTR be ok for my Hitec servo? Thanks

Bec that comes with it is 6v 5amps. Not too bad. I'd imagine a hitec should be fine but I would look to upgrade sooner than later. I have the bec from my bully in my scaler with a 500 oz servo and it works fine though. Stock servo is a waste of time in my opinion.
How many more threads are you going to make before that thing comes in and you make a build thread too?
Haha

Start a "build thread" most of us will see your new post and answer questions there.
Servo Hitec 7950 in my crawlers same ones for yrs. You can find used ones in classifieds section for around 75-80.00$

I haven't owned a Holmes Hobbies servo but I hear they don't hold up in a comp crawler.

Default Servo for RTR Bully 2

Either that or a Promodeler 420.

You need the torque and they are fast enough to flick

I used that bec to power a double servo rig , that glitched when using quadsteer command on third channel, Holmes harness, plugged and played
Power me up Scotty !

What hes got will be better than stock thats for sure. But 500+ oz/in is the goal.

Ok I'll shut up till its sittin here on my bench lol I'll get a build thread started, though I don't plan on doing too much to it to start (yeah watch all my Vanquish Currie stuff end up in the classifieds by the end of the week lol) So to wrap this thread up, my Hitec 7955TG is only 333oz, but it sounds like it will be at least better than stock, and I can just swap it in with the existing BEC thst comes with the Bully 2 RTR, did I understand that all right? See ya next time with pics

Pick up a CC bec and run the 7955 at 7.4v. Will be ~400oz (same specs as 7954).

I actually already have a Castle 10a and the castle link thing, was gonna use it on a SCX10 build that I lost interest in. Is it just a matter of swapping it in, or do I have to hook up the castle link and program it? I'm completely ignorant when it comes to electronics, I can solder pretty well and swap one wire for another, but thats about it

Im still running the original BEC that came with my bully way back...
Sounds like its the same one you have. None of the other electronics remain, but the BEC is still there, and my rig is no doubt heavier than yours.

with 2 x castle escs

Cheers

Yes, hook it up to castle link and program it for 7.4v. Then solder bec power/ground to esc plug. Last, you can either pick up, or make an rx bypass harness. Holmes sells one or you can make one or modify a Y harness.

I never ran mine, swapped it out. Sat in a box, went to sell a dual servo crawler, needed a bec, that worked perfect, servo taped it to the hood

Cool! I'm hoping this BEC will work ok with my Hitec 7955TG as I'd like to use my Castle 10a BEC with my Holmes BRXL on another project. This Bully nearly broke the bank for me

Imo the rc4wd BEC is to bulky. I'd use the castle creation BEC.

It is indeed bulky due to the plastic case. It can fit in the space I have though, so works for me.
There cant be much difference in weight though. Even the RC4WD BEC can only weigh a few grams.
Even if the CC is half the weight, it would only be a couple grams. There are IMO bigger fish to fry, bigger gains to be made elsewhere, especially if money is an issue.
Its not like its full of led.

Honestly, I would use the cc bec just for the fact your getting more ounces running higher volts. Why not use the rc4wd bec in your other project? Your going to want as much power as you can get in your bully.

He will be fine, that servo doesn't need 8 amps, you think it's a Savox ?

I said volts, 6v vs 7.4v depending which bec is used. To get more out of that 7955, it should be ran at 7.4v. Rc4wd bec is only good for 6v.
