RC's Bully2 / SuDu 3D Build Jumping ship and going RC4WD Bully's! Let's see what we can do with these sweet looking axles? I've been running XR axles for years and it's time for a change. Got the 1st of many packages to come n the mail today. As always RPP hobbies has great service and shipping. Thanks http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z...SER/image.jpeg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z...age.jpg5_1.jpg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z...R/image_3.jpeg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z...R/image_6.jpeg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z...R/image_7.jpeg |
Re: RC's Bully2 / SuDu 3D Build Made some lightweight beadlocks in both 3 hole and 6 hole for the front. They are made from 6061 aluminum, may try a some deferent material down the road. Hoping they do good with the voodoo pins form purpmart. http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z...image.jpg2.jpg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z...image.jpg1.jpg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z...image.jpg5.jpg |
Re: RC's Bully2 / SuDu 3D Build Also made some carbon fiber upper link plates with delrin link mounts. Not sure how they are going to work, Crawlinghulls had some luck with the 1st prototypes. May make some changes. http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z...R/image_9.jpeg |
Re: RC's Bully2 / SuDu 3D Build I think your on to something"thumbsup" |
Re: RC's Bully2 / SuDu 3D Build Great start.... |
Re: RC's Bully2 / SuDu 3D Build Can forget Robbob, Krazed Builds for the sweet C.F. Rims Along with B.C. Brian for the shift hubs. http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z.../image_11.jpeg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z.../image_12.jpeg |
Re: RC's Bully2 / SuDu 3D Build Starting weight is 330g on the front axle and 270g no the back. Hoping to get these to drop some weight using Ti and Delrin. Can't wait to get machining, time to do some programming. http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z.../image_13.jpeg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z.../image_15.jpeg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z.../image_14.jpeg |

Re: RC's Bully2 / SuDu 3D Build Got some sweet stuff in the mail today, thanks to RC4WD! 8 degree c's and knuckles upgraded bearing with some knuckle weights. Along with a little suprise gift! http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z...4EE69EFD24.jpghttp://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z...8C4E2F5E36.jpg |
Re: RC's Bully2 / SuDu 3D Build Had some time to do some machining today, working on in tire wheel weights out of carbon fiber. Things are starting to take shape. Please understand I have a lot more work to do, but there's the start. Loaded in the vise. http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z...A912FB39D3.jpg Drilled all the holes http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z...3A735CC8CA.jpg Changed out to an aluminum fixture. Using the holes to hold the CF down http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z...93087C59D9.jpg All cut, now just to unscrew all the bolts. http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z...5C1C320A56.jpg Got two halfs cut let's see what we can do with theses. http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z...692AE80450.jpg |
Re: RC's Bully2 / SuDu 3D Build Right now each side weights 14 grams http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z...EB58786C1A.jpg Put together they weight 40 grams right now. Hoping to put lighting hole in the CF, use aluminum hardware and maybe find a lighter cross support. http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z...7F2D63F3DB.jpg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z...E841AD8341.jpg Also going to be able to use them as a beadlocks system, just need to put some slots in the weight ring allowing the tire bead to squeeze thru. http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z...BF612F3182.jpg http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z...F4E98F4C92.jpg Next step I need to make the interface between the knuckle and the CF ring. Then the holder for some weights, Brass http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z...DE0DD8EF22.jpg Tungsten http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z...0F1D6843B7.jpg |
Re: RC's Bully2 / SuDu 3D Build Try some Nylon standoffs, I've been using them on my D-lux beadlocks with no problems so far, they are half the weight of the aluminum ones. |

Going to wait until I get the weight holder made, may need to change the width. I had those AL ones from some CF rings / rims. |
Re: RC's Bully2 / SuDu 3D Build Looking good! Might have to get me some one day. |

Re: RC's Bully2 / SuDu 3D Build Ok the Carbon Fiber beadlock / internal wheel weight is coming along, right now I'm waiting on more CF to show. Try out the 1st one with some 3mm hardware and stand offs. Next I'll make some lightweight aluminum pems with 3mm ID thread & set the length of the 3mm aluminum screw to be flush with the inside CF ring. Probably use 7075 series Al to make them. http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z...178D5D9F3E.jpg This is the CF interface between the knuckle and the weight holder. Just need to post a program and run it. http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z...B1FC6E95F7.png Working on the CF weight holder now. |
