Default Tf2 gear ratio

Yes... I have searched

Does anybody know what the stock spur tooth count is???
I want to gear up a bit and wanted to know what ratios I'm working with.
Looking to go down a few teeth on the spur or up a few on the pinion/or both. ....looking for a bit more speed out of my HH35t

Thanks in advance

The gears are 14/64 and should have enough room to go up a few teeth on the pinion...

Also here is the full specs...

Thanks John....
I have an 18/54 I wanted to try....that's 3-1
14/64 is 4.57-1
Wonder if that's a stretch

I am by no means an expert on these/crawling trucks but why not try just changing the pinion first and see how it runs... I have a traxxas brushless in mine and just stepped down to a 8t pinion to slow the truck down a little... Waiting on new shafts as I have broken/twisted the stock ones...

When you change your ratio, be sure to keep an eye on motor and ESC temps. It's possible to heat one or both to undesirable temps.

Yes...I have a temp gun ....I'm an ex on roader so I'm familiar with that aspect.
Being as it's a 32p gear I'm thinking 10 teeth is a bit of a stretch. Spur gears are hard to find it seems...32p anyway

Well the motor/ESC combo that I have really fast for this truck, so going to a 8t looks good... can run it slow without the motor cogging... But I also have ordered an 11t just in case I want/need a little more speed...

I'm running a MMpro and a HH35t...3s is pretty peppy, but I'd rather run all the 2s bats I have (6)... So I'm looking at gearing

What's your motor/esc Skater?

Don't laugh but I have the Velineon VXL-3s ESC and Velineon 3500 Brushless... I bought it before really reading up on what the truck (TF2) would need and well I already have it so just gearing it down a little... But with the motor/esc combo running the gear ratio that i have installed, it is going to be a stump puller... Also running a 3s lipo...

I don't have anyone down here to run with so I am just building it to mess around with... And maybe I might get some one interested, so we will see...

That's a stump puller for sure man...try a 2s if you have one, that would slow it down some. That's a lot of power for that little truck

Even on 2s it will be a beast. The vxl system doesn't have any adjustability, but it can supply a lot of power. While waiting for a CC system to arrive I ran one in an scx10 4x4 and it was very fast at our track. Uncontrollable, but fast lol.

A vxl in a tf2 can provide plenty of non-scale fun lol.

Yeah I agree it might not be the most flexible system, but it does have the 'training' mode which is 50% in both forward and reverse, that and the TF2 being two speed so it should run rather good... Am waiting on a set of Gmade shafts to replace the broken stock units...

I know it might be quicker than a 'scale' truck but running solo the extra speed might be wanted... Looking for a few good hills to climb, but most of the stuff around here is real loose coral rock...

Skater229, you're the only one with an RC truck, or just a scale truck?

Well we have a few folks with R/C items here, but just not sure how many... As for me, well i have quite a few... Trucks, heli's , 1/5 scale gas, and even some small planes... But now it looks like shipping Lipo Batts here might be an issue...

Probably quieter too...32p has more surface contact area though

So....I'm really trying to stay with 32p gears
I bought a Traxxas spur 58 tooth....but the center hole was bigger than the hub it fits on. Traxxas center hole is 11mm...output shaft on the tf2 is 9.58mm, or 3/8". I understood that the Traxxas gears worked on this vehicle. Is there a bushing or bearing adapter that people are using? The guy in the LHS thought I was from Mars or something. I've gone with a bigger pinion for now up 3 teeth...perked that HH35t right up

Has anyone actually used another spur gear? If so what was it please....

Traxxas spurs fit the on the spur hub. There are two sets (of 3) of M3 tapped mounting holes on the hub. One set is Traxxas compatible, the others are Axial compatible. Once the three screws are in place the spur will be centered so dont worry about the middle of the gear sitting on the hub.
