| TF2 with 1.9s?
So I've been changing my mind about my next purchase for forever now and I'm again leaning towards the TF2 RTR. My question is, who has put 1.9 wheels and tires on a 1.55 truck? How well does the performance improve and do they fit well with the truck? (And if this has to be moved to a different sub-forum feel free to do so)

I run 1.9's on mine but they are a small class 1 tire. There shouldn't be a performance difference imo |

What he said. lol. 1.9's 1.55's Your performance difference isn't going to be in whether it's a 1.55 or a 1.9, it's going to be in your choice of tire. Which is I think what you're getting at in there being more options for 1.9 correct? There are some 1.55 tires that are just as big as a 1.9. The bigger and more luggy the tire, the more they'll scrub your leaf springs and body as well. Food for thought. |

Honestly I never ran the stock leaf pack so I can't give a comparison. I will say I have broke several red leaf'springs though. They can be brittle at times

stock springs will work good once setup right. As for 1.9s you can but it will require trimming of the grill/ front of the front fender. I wouldn't go any higher than a 4.3" tire.

1.55 Growlers with CI 2-stage foams are a great combo for the TF2, esp with GCM wheels to tuck them in nicely. |

New2rocks & Steve... Out of curiosity, did y'all ever run into any issues with the dual stage foams that came with your 1.55 Growlers? and which combo CI's did y'all end up going with? Soft 2nd stage or medium? TIA!

I never used the foams that came with the Growlers, they're an open cell foam so they don't have the support the CI foams have but I've read where others have had good luck with the stock foams. As for what CI foam I used, CWR-2001 with soft outers. |
