Is the suspension supposed to be this crooked?
 

So I got my truck today, bought it used, and started going through it. First thing I notice is the front suspension isn't close to symmetrical. Is this normal? It does have 3 link front 4 link rear.

No that is not normal or even close to it at all. Check the links and see if one side is shorter than the other. That might be the reason why it's off...

I was thinking the same thing. Some where the lengths are wrong and are offsetting the alignment.

From those photos, it looks like one of the steering links is bent, and the primary steering link is way too long, throwing your entire geometry off.

Lol so I'm guessing that this is some Janky China kit. Doesn't look like The pictures at all and the lengths aren't even close. How important are the angled rod ends?

That is not how my links were labeled in the 3/4 link kits. Nor did the kits come with metal ends. Looks like someone "built" links from parts

Also that panhard bar is too short, so its forcing the axle off-center

The lower links are probably fine.
The panhard bar is way off.
Have you made links before?
It's really easy... stainless steel 8:32 (I'm really tired and fuzzy right now but I believe that's it) threaded rod, .25" steel or aluminum tubing, Traxxas Revo rod ends and tools.

I switched two links around and it got better. Still garage but better! Can you send me a pic of your steering servo horn worth link please?






I'm going to try this if I fail I'll just have to buy a 3 link setup. Do I drill the tubing or will the hallow tube be the perfect size? I bought some alum tubing in the past and it was VERY thin walled.

I'll get you a pic of my front end in a few.

The tubing slides right over the threaded rod perfectly, and doesnt need to be thick walled. The threaded rod provides the strength, the tubing lets it slide easily

How long are your front shocks? The links are most likely set up for stock length shocks so with longer shocks the panhard bar is too short so it shifts the axle to the passenger side. If you fully compress the front suspension does it line up straight? If it does then you just need to lengthen the panhard bar. One thing to note about lengthening the panhard bar is on full compression it will shift the axle slightly to the driver side. I'm actually in the process of dealing with this on my TF2, I am working on making taller shock hoops (since the Gelande 2 hoops are sold out) to lower my front end down to close to stock height and bring the geometry back to what it should be.

The front shocks are 90mm. I don't care for them. I want to replace them.

So here is my new goal... I need to get shorter front shocks and keep stock length links. I want to articulate like its my job. What should I get? I'd like to match the rear if possible but am not committed to them. I will have to adjust them I know for sure.

I need to get an interior and need to lift the body (which the kit is impossible to find) to clear my outcry esc.

I have 1.9 proline swampers but need better wheels. Any suggestions?

What shocks are you using? What length?

Those are axial icons. Fronts are completely stock except for not using the short spring. Rears are mounted using front shock hoops and longer lower ends, and without the short spring. Front is right at 90mm and needs internal limiting. Rear is about 95mm and has about 5-7mm external limiting

So I put new links in, with these arb shocks and when I turn the camber is all messed up and i can barely turn the tires. The servo seems to get jammed up. The tires at the top push away front the truck.

I'm frustrated with this pile. Should I just return this to lead springs and 80mm front shocks? Or am I missing something.

Have patience. I will try to measure all my links eye-to-eye so you can figure out where yours are different

As far as shock rub, with certain wheel/tire combos the top of the tire touches the spring at full compression and the spring touches the axle side panhard mount
