Default TF2 rtf ESC question?

I was thinking of buying a TF2 but I heard the ESC was not kilo friendly. I did some research and basically all I could find about this was that it has no low voltage cut off. I was wondering if I just throw a low voltage monitor in there will this work well until I can save up to buy some new electronics?

I'm running lipo in mine with no issues. Connecting a low voltage monitor would be advisable so as not to ruin any batteries.
